So Many 'Firsts' for Spencer O'Brien! She won the first stop of the first ever Winter Dew Tour which just happened to be her first major competition win. Dew Tour Awards Spencer has some new trophies to add to the collection Spencer racked up 280 points (ahead of Jamie Anderson and Jenny Jones) over the course of the tour (1st at Breckenridge, 2nd at Mount Snow, 2nd at Northstar). She clinched the Dew Cup this past weekend after taking 2nd ahead of super pro, Janna Meyen and behind Jamie Anderson, who in interviews, said she thought Spencer had her beat. Toyota Championship Northstar-at-Tahoe Podium "I'm really stoked to be the first overall winner. The Dew Tour is a really important event for snowboarders and skiers. They did a really good job with the tour, because there was lots of Media coverage that brought snowboarding to the masses, and it was tons of fun for the riders too," said Spencer. Meghann O'Brien Surfs the Snow
On February 13th Meghann O'Brien headed to Terrace BC (not far South of AK) from Mount Baker where she had competed in the Legendary Banked Slalom. Beautiful Drive For the first few days she shredded and sledded with Natasza Zurek in the sun and pow. Just the 2 of them with plenty of terrain to enjoy. Sun and Pow in Terrace Meghann and Nat have been sledding and shooting all week long, and were recently joined by Mark Sollars. They've also run into a couple of other crews who caught word of the good conditions in that zone, but that hasn't stopped them from finding spots of their own. Meghann Stoked to be in her element. |

JP Hits Up 32 Boot Camp and Zumiez 100K
Recently JP took sometime out from filming for the Stepchild/32 team video to attend 2 major events, Thirty-Two Boot Camp and Zumiez 100K. JP Hanging with JP!?! On January 8 JP rolled up to Tamarack, Idaho for Thirty-Two Boot camp. He was there to snowboard and to check out the brand new outerwear line, as well as the hugely popular boots, alongside riders, retailers, media and some of the Sole Tech crew. After plenty of pow and great food from the onsite chef's JP was ready to get down to business. After an in-depth look at the outerwear line JP stepped up to talk about his signature color story, his pieces in the line and also The Spot logo, a signature logo JP shares with his buddies that represents their crew and their secret rail training spot in Utah. Way too much talent for one room Then on January 12 JP headed to Keystone, Colorado. Everyone knows the deal with the Zumiez 100K, it's a massive party with all of the top snowboarders and skaters the world over. Though JP isn't too into the party scene, he's always down to hang, especially when he gets to hang with friends and fellow shred legends, Peter Line and Terje Haakonsen. |

Stepchild/32 Team Video Underway
See those 3 grins? They're stoked because they've already logged footage for their upcoming parts in the Stepchild/32 team video. JP and Simon got to work as soon as snow started to hit Ontario. Then after Christmas Joe, and his re-habbed knee joined in on the rail slaying that took place here, there and everywhere in snowy British Colubmia. B.C. hasn't seen this much snow since 1971 --which in case you can't do the math was before any of those guys were even born. Check back here and on Stepchild's site as the season unfolds for more on JP, Simon and Joe's Excellent Adventure. |

Spencer O'Brien Wins Dew Tour Stop #1
Spencer has been out in Colorado riding Keystone and getting ready for her first contest of the season for the past couple of weeks. Her hard work and focus paid off today in the Women's Slopestyle Final during the first stop of The Dew Tour. Spencer rode strong and smooth taking 1st place! She had a solid run that consisted of a smooth switch B/S 180 mute, B/S 540 mellon, and a solid gap to boardslide all with her signature style stomped clean she easily took the win! Congrats to Spencer for not only taking 1st in the premier event of the series, but also for her first win at a major pro contest! On top of the podium! Roberta and Spencer both stoked.
